Christmas songs and carols

Here comes a time to celebrate, time to experience the magic moments with our family. Surely, those moments spent together will be also full of joyful carols singing. Undoubtedly, there are beautiful carols in your home country that will be sung in many homes during this Christmas. However, there are also unique English Christmas carols and songs. Do you know any of them? Did you already have a chance to sing them with your kids? If not, then we invite you to common English carols singing! This is also a great opportunity to learn English together.

When it comes for Christmas, I still remember from my childhood those magic Polish but also English Christmas songs of which the melodies were coming from my dad’s radio, while from the kitchen, where my mother was cooking, there was coming the smell of traditional poppy-seed cake and compote of prunes. At that time, I was dressing Christmas tree with my siblings and singing those Christmas carols and songs together. This is one of my greatest memories of Christmas. These carols sounded different than today, when in a hurry of Christmas shopping, we have to listen to what comes from the speakers in shopping centres. And these are surely not the most pleasing melodies and are rather associated with a commercial shopping fever. But when we finally stop and sit down together at the Christmas table, we can enjoy common carolling. Not only in our mother language, but in foreign language as well.

And here are the famous English carols and Christmas songs that I remember from my childhood and which I am now singing with my son. If you have already got any of the carols books recommended HERE we invite you to sing along! For those of you who still do not have such a songbook, I attach below a list of videos that our son especially likes.
